I have a Shiny Groudon! What about you guys?

BTW, I didn't use any hacks/cheats.

Im sad to say that I have not found a single shiny without a hack/cheat on any of my pokemon games in the past (and I have had a lot) well your lucky to get shiny groudon especially if you didn't hack it in to your game, good find.

In the past like probably four years (or around) when I had Ruby, the legit shinies I ever found and capture were Ralts. At first I thought the blue hair color and the stars spin around it told me that the game was glitching like Missingno was there or pokerus bad glitch or something. Got my heart pumping because I thought my file going get deleted for no reason without any cheating device.

I went online to know about "shiny" pokemon and Shiny Ralts picture appears on the website and it matches with the one I had so I was safe to cheer that I caught my first shiny in 3rd gen. Several weeks later when I got it to evolve to Shiny Gardevoir, I let my cousin play pokemon and I told him NOT TO SAVE THE FILE............

Skipping along with my long posts, other legits I found and capture which of course legit shinies keep giving me a heart attack a lot and dizziness are:











Lotad = I found it from the wilds and it was the route where I almost enter in the meteor cave where Solrock or Lunatone appears. I can tell I saw a Shiny Lotad because the weird skin color (you know when you the trainer and the pokemon slide across the screen and the pokemon is shaded in black like dark form? I was able to get surprise since behind that black color I saw Lotad color was not normal)

Skarmory = I got it from the egg and it was late at night and my eyes was opening and closing. I never got to experience Shiny Skarmory hatch out of the egg due to I was sooooooooooooo sleepy. My GBA SP light turn red since I was partly sleeping when holding SP on my hand, luckily I woke up a bit to see Shiny Skarmory, charged my SP, turn it off, and sleep. By the way, I had major heart attack that night since I had no energy for the reaction of surprise.

Rayquaza = I was playing Street Fighter Online and pick Spider-Man. I was doing a 1vs1 tag with another online member on SFO. I was multitasking when I was soft resetting for a Shiny Rayquaza and my volume was up too. During my match when I was high jumping with Spider-Man, Rayquaza battle music comes (I mash the "A" button without looking at my SP) and Rayquaza's cry comes and then I hear that chime or ching sound after. I cuss some bad word in surprise and then I let my opponent have a good free win on SFO which kinda messes up my record and I train my Shiny Rayquaza ever since and never play SFO for a long time.

Rhyhorn = I found that pokemon in the safari I believe and yeah, when the pokemon and the trainer was sliding, I can tell in milliseconds that I'm seeing a Shiny Rhyhorn. By luck I captured it and got to train it to Shiny Rhydon.

Aipom = Found that pokemon in safari, yeah we know the story, Aipom slides in shadowy color and I can tell in seconds that I'm seeing it in shiny form. I was a bit mad though because what use is Aipom in battles. Although my file keep getting deleted for all these shinies I had, I could've gotten a Shiny Ambipom legitally and Ambipom is a good pokemon to use.

Other shinies I found in R/S/E battle tower which I got so pissed because I get to see it but can't steal battle tower trainer's pokemon are:







My brother had also found legit shinies but what I remember are:





Me and my brother had fun turning on our GameCube and display our shinies in Pokemon Colosseum and seeing our Pokemon "fake-lying" colors in battles and we also enjoy our Shiny Pokemon new ID pics. Shiny Pokemon do have new pic faces than the normal ones, sigh.

The Shiny Legendaries are the best, people use a method to catch them. They keep resetting their game and keep encountering the legendary Pokemon so it has a better chance of being Shiny. I dont think I would have the patience to do that. How many tries has it taken some of you?

I forgot how many times it taken for me to soft reset a Shiny Rayquaza because few files got deleted due to my cousin and because now I understand more about pokemon like Natures which I never knew they can boost a pokemon stats and to pokemon IV & EV and how to gain these correct EVs from. Back then I didn't know what any of those do or why it was important.

The file where I soft reset for the Shiny Rayquaza, I have to say I probably done it up to 508 times. I'm sure it was my third day starting off when I reach to the Sky Pillar and save right under Rayquaza.

By the way, I just remember how awesome the legend battle music. I should search for the theme on youtube or some other sites....

Lessee...Transferring from yellow, I had a shiny chansey. Found shiny venonat (accidently KO'd it by burn) on silver, and caught shiny abra & drowsee on crystal. I think I caught a shiny yanma before my file fried, and I accidently KO'd a shiny unown I back in '02. I caught some shiny on emerald, but lost the game. Caught shiny geodude on leafgreen, transferred it to pearl. Caught shiny staravia before I reached 20 hours on pearl as well. I just got a shiny raticate heading out to level on Platinum...oh yeah, I hatched a glitchy shiny cyndaquil on silver, went normal when he evolved.

I think that's every shiny I've seen and/or owned w/o trading. including trades, I got a shiny eevee for pkrus x]

lol. I've managed to catch a shiny on, like, every game i've owned almost o.o shy of Diamond, atleast :/

- Random Transfer. I was trying to get my bro's luck of finding the elusive male, and instead found a green chansey o.o

- I was randomly going thru the bug catching contest with my togepi. I was looking for something half-decent, and found this blue-eyed venonat and was like "OMG!! IT'S A SHINY!!"...and then I used will-o-wisp. that sucked. But, I managed to pull the elusive "win with a caterpie"...I was so giddy and sad at the same time o.o

- Meh, I was leveling up my brand-new umbreon to go fight Whitney, and came across this. I accidentally criticalled; I almost cried

- This was only a couple years back. Was leveling just outside vermillion, I think I was looking for a regular drowzee, and instead found the pretty purple variety. I was excited, of course it was a GIRL!!

- Later the day I got drowzee, was searching the grass outside...was it fuchsia? I can't even remember where. Anyhow, I saw this thing, and immediately threw an ultra ball. I hadn't even registered the shock of finding a shiny before the shock of catching two shinies in one day had kicked in.

- OMG I love this girl I was heading to catch mewtwo, and instead found a golden geodude. I'm EXTREMELY thankful for my damp poliwhirl. I found it, water gunned it to low health, and caught it easily. It tried exploding a few times x]

- Meh, I was that gumby breeder looking for a random poke on the next route, and ran into this lovely birdie. I still own her, and I'm still looking to trade her x] I considered replacing my staravia (now a level 80-some starapter, I believe) with this thing, but I was already too attached to her x]

- Heh, I was trying to get a girl. Volcano was thrown in daycare for, like, a month and in that month produced a shiny male. The next was the ONLY female cyndaquil I ever managed to breed. Then, I go to evolve Lava, and he turns normal x( I was friggen CHEESED!

- Ah, the latest addition to my collection. Caity was found when I was heading to finish off the level on my lapras, before heading to battle my rival. Instead, I found a copper-&-yellow rat. I almost squealed with joy when I saw her "My first shiny on platinum! hoorah!" was all I could think o.o I was hard-pressed to not have her knock herself out though :s

Uhm I just realized that you can use pokemon radar to get shiny pokemon... I just got Shiny Shinx.
It took me like 4 hours but I finally got a hang of the Pokemon Radar.

So far I managed to encounter 3 shinies.

The first was around a year ago, in Emerald just west of Fallarbor Town, on Route 114 if I remember correctly. It was a Swablu. I didn't like Swablu back then, and I managed to faint it by accident <.< Oh well, at least I saw my first shiny Pokemon.

The second was in Diamond. I was in the Great Marsh in Area 5. I encountered a Shiny Wooper. I was like "OMG! Wooper is one of my favourite, this is so cool." The next moment I realized I was in the Great Marsh, and that Wooper can flee at any turn. I decided not throw any baits or rocks, because Wooper has a high catch rate, and I was lucky enough to catch it with the first Safari Ball.

I caught my last shiny around a week ago, in Platinum. I was on Route 228. I was looking for a Hippowdon, and I was surprised to see a shiny Cacnea. Again, I was very happy because Cacturne is my favourite non-Starter grass type. Successfully managed to catch it, and I'm gonna rise it when I have the time. Shortly after, I saw a grey/black Hippowdon and I was like "OMG two shinies in 10 minutes!?". Went to the Serebii pokedex to make sure if it is a shiny, and than I realized it's color is different because it was a female Hippowdon. Hehe. Although I caught that one as well.

These are the stories of my shinies. I think I can consider myself very lucky, because I saw 3 shinies in a relatively short amount of time without ever using the PokeRadar. All of them are legit, I never use any cheat devices.

Akuztix bring up a good point with the pokeradar. My stories was back in Ruby/Emerald version. In Diamond I manage to catch four shinies there.

For Shiny Snover, I obtain like probably six shinies of them because I was over than 40 with the pokeradar chain combo. I guess my post ends here. Also before I end my post, the shinies I encounter in Silver (2nd generation) besides the Red Gyarados are:




2nd gen shiny colors were a bit freaky in a way since the max colors a pokemon could have are black, white, and any two colors left.

Because I have an action replay, I have a lot of illegit shinies, but I also have a good chunk of legit shinies that I chained. These include Golem (caught as geodude), and shiny Cranidos.

I was trying eggs AND fossils. In the end, I got it from a lucky fluke by reviving a fossil. Hatched over 70 eggs, got the shiny on the 7th fossil...

I also once had a Shiny Beautifly but I didn't know what shinies were yet so i just erased my game. =/

I also traded my S. Groudon for a LEGIT Shiny Manaphy.
